Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Michelle Joy’s first job was at 14 years old as a bagger at a grocery store. At 16 she began her Communications dream in Sports Radio, and at the University of Florida she was the campus TV Sports Reporter. She covered the Jacksonville Jaguars and other NFL teams, conducting locker room interviews. She worked for ESPN Radio and fulfilled her teenage dream of being a TV Sports Reporter.
After 8 years, she decided to transition into the field of Education, to inspire children and teenagers. In almost a decade, she has taught all grade levels - Kindergarten through 12th in every sector - public school, Christian private, inner city, then a nonprofit teaching students with special needs for five years. Currently, she is a Middle School English Language Arts Teacher, Private Tutor, Life Coach to teenagers and adults, a Couples Coach for dating, engaged, and married couples, Motivational Speaker, and President of the nonprofit she founded, Heart and Soul Ministry, giving back to the homeless/sheltered, elderly, and youth through seasonal outreaches. People is why Joy Is In You exists. Her mission is to help people of all ages discover their inner joy through four foundational pillars. She wants to give her clients the tools and opportunities necessary to experience peace, joy, confidence, and self-worth. Michelle Joy has a heart for people and believes everyone can reach his/her fullest potential and be a success.
